What is a TEDxPraça Gil Eanes Salon?
TEDxPraça Gil Eanes is a platform for discovery located in the heart of Lagos, dedicated to uncovering "ideas worth spreading" within our local and global community. While our flagship annual conference serves as our grand stage for diverse TEDx Talks, we believe that curiosity and idea sharing shouldn't be limited to once a year.
To bridge the gap between our major events, we host TEDxPraça Gil Eanes Salons. These are intimate, high-energy gatherings designed to foster deep dialogue and lasting connections. While the annual conference provides the spark, the Salon is where the fire is tended.
As an official TEDx licensee, our team is committed to creating spaces where the community can engage with complex topics in a more personal setting. Whether on the big stage or in a cosy Salon circle, we believe that conversation is the catalyst for change, and that our best ideas grow when they are shared, questioned, and celebrated together.

What makes an idea worth sharing? And what makes a great speaker?
Join us on 21 November in Vilamoura for a special TEDx Salon exploring the art of public speaking, pitching and sharing ideas that matter.
We'll put 8 potential TEDx speakers in the spotlight. Each will have just 3 minutes to pitch their idea to a live audience. A jury will make the first selection and then it's over to you. The audience will vote, and one speaker will ultimately be selected to take the stage at our main TEDx event in May.
Throughout the evening, we'll screen inspiring TED Talks about public speaking, communication and the power of a great idea, and hear from former TEDx speakers about their experiences, what it takes to step onto the TEDx stage, and what they've learned along the way.
Whether you're curious about becoming a speaker, love great ideas, or simply want to see what happens when people get three minutes to convince a room, we would love for you to come join us, listen, vote, and help choose our next TEDx speaker!
